Set the normal GST/tax configuration in Business Settings so the system starts from the business-approved default.
Assign GST to a Retail product category and let new products inherit the expected rate automatically.
Use the same simple concept for menu categories inside the Restaurant module.
Allow owner/admin-level correction where a specific item legitimately needs a different tax rate.
Configure invoice prefix and numbering format so new bills follow an understandable sequence.
Add business identity, GSTIN/tax details, contact information and receipt footer preferences.
Use the configured business settings across authorised branches without manually rebuilding billing rules at every counter.
Keep GST-configured sales inside the same Retail or Restaurant reporting workflow used for daily business visibility.
Each step is designed to be understandable for day-to-day staff and manageable for owners.
ByteCraft POS is designed for Indian billing workflows, but tax configuration remains business-controlled. Actual GST rates and invoice requirements should always follow the customer’s applicable tax position and professional accounting guidance.
A GST tax invoice needs your GSTIN, a sequential invoice number for the financial year, the item, HSN or SAC code, taxable value, the rate and the CGST, SGST or IGST split. Billing software should produce that automatically so staff never calculate tax by hand.
ByteCraft POS stores the GST rate and HSN code on the product or menu category. Adding an item to the category fills both in. An owner or authorised user can override a rate for an exception, and that change is visible rather than buried.
At filing time you need sales summarised by rate and by HSN, B2B invoices separated from B2C, and credit notes accounted for. GST reports in ByteCraft POS group sales this way so the numbers can be checked before filing rather than rebuilt from bills.
Input tax credit depends on what your suppliers report. The GSTR-2B worksheet lets you line up your purchase register against the 2B statement, mark each row eligible, ineligible or pending, and keep that decision on record for the next month.
Rates, exemptions and invoice rules change and depend on your business. Confirm treatment with your CA; ByteCraft POS gives you configurable tools and clean records so that conversation is quick.
One price for the whole business, Retail or Restaurant or both. Extra branches are ₹2,500 one-time each, never a per-user fee.
